About Me

Hello, and thanks for taking the time to read my blog.

Let's get the formal introduction over with... My name is Judy Klein.  I am originally from Brooklyn, New York.  I grew up on a block with all boys, so I was quickly thrown into the world of sports.  I played football, basketball, stick ball, tennis, and so much more!  The only sport that my parents forbid me to play was roller hockey, for fear that the puck would knock out my teeth.

My favorite physical activity was racing all the boys around our block, one boy at a time.  The block was about one-third of a mile and I would just keep on going.  I quickly learned the fine art of pacing and discovered that I could run for miles while the boys would all sprint in an effort to beat me, yet burn out before the finish line.

By age 20, I became a passionate runner, and knew that I would always make running a part of my life!  I entered my first official race, a 10 km (6.2 miles) and won the women's division.  I was hooked!

Today, at age 55, I have completed all 29 marathons that I have entered.  I have run in many hundreds of races ranging from 5 km (3.1 miles) to the marathon distance (26.2 miles) and everything in between.  I have won or placed in over 50 races, and have personally raised over $100,000 for pediatric cancer research.

I am very fortunate to do what I love each and every day!  I am an Exercise Physiologist, Personal Fitness Trainer, and Marathon Coach.  I work with a variety of clients with varied health histories and personal goals.  I have both my Master's and Bachelor's Degrees in Physical Education, with specializations in Exercise Science and Secondary Education, respectively.

I am very dedicated to my clients and am known by all for my boundless energy!  My clients describe me as "master motivator" -- I teach my clients how to set goals and walk them through the steps required to succeed.

I hope this blog will help you in your marathon journey.  I am determined to help as many first time marathoners as possible across the finish line!

LET THE JOURNEY BEGIN!!!

  1. I am very impressed Judy. My view is that many people do not realize the value of running and exercise. You are making a substantial contribution to the lives of many people. I wish you well and I hope that many people follow your advice and guidance. Running changed my life from over a hundred kgs to a finisher in the New York and London Marathons. I have paced for Adidas and Puma. It has been an incredible journey. Thank you for what you have to offer. It will make a huge difference in peoples' lives.
